Building on the momentum of its National Education Policy, NEP, 2020 initiatives, the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, launched the Parenting Calendar for the Academic Session 2026-27 today via a live YouTube event. This initiative, first introduced in 2025-26, aims to institutionalise structured engagement between schools and parents to support the emotional, social, and academic growth of students.
CBSE 2026: Enhanced Strategies for Holistic Development and Inclusion
The 2026-27 edition of the calendar has been significantly enriched with new components designed to meet the challenges of a modern educational environment. Key additions include:-
- Promotes awareness and equitable practices for diverse learners.
- Guides families adapting to curriculum updates and evolving academic expectations.
- Offers a developmental perspective to help schools design age-appropriate programs.
- Focuses on psycho-social initiatives to build students' resilience.
The launch event saw widespread participation from principals, counsellors, and wellness educators. Secretary Himnashu Gupta emphasised that the calendar serves as a practical guide for parents to actively participate in their child’s developmental journey. CBSE encourages all affiliated schools to adopt this framework to create a more nurturing and supportive educational ecosystem.
