CUET UG Scores 2026: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has made a major change to technical education in the capital by including CUET UG results into its B.Tech admissions process for the 2026 academic year. The university uses a multi-tiered priority structure under this new policy to fill engineering seats among linked government and commercial institutions. 

The addition of CUET scores as a secondary criterion offers a crucial safety net for students who may not have achieved their desired ranks in the national engineering entrance but did well on the Common University Entrance Test, even though JEE Main Paper 1 is still the main gateway and has first preference.

By taking this action, IP University is joining a nationwide movement to expedite undergraduate admissions via the National Testing Agency (NTA). The university already uses CUET for more than three dozen programs outside of B.Tech, but it continuously upholds a hierarchy that gives preference to National Level Tests or its own Common Entrance Tests (IPU CET). B.Tech Admission 2026 Through CUET UG: Admission Process

IP University's (GGSIPU) 2026 B.Tech admissions process uses a multi-channel strategy. The institution has formally accepted CUET UG scores as a secondary avenue to fill any remaining open seats, even though JEE Main Paper 1 is still the major gateway.

• Eligibility: Make sure you have met the requirements for eligibility by passing Class 12 with a minimum of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and passing English as an elective or core subject.

• Strategic Subject Mapping: In order to be considered for the B.Tech merit list, you must choose the required domain topics of Physics (322), Chemistry (306), and Mathematics (319), during CUET registration.

• Complete CUET UG Registration: Before the deadline, register on the official NTA website at cuet.nta.nic.in. Note that in order to accommodate additional applicants, the 2026 application window has been extended.

• Register on the IPU Portal: GGSIPU Centralized Online Counseling requires a separate registration in addition to CUET. At this point, you must choose the "B.Tech (Code 131)" curriculum.

• Recognize Admission Priority: Candidates with valid JEE Main Paper 1 results are given seats first. Only once the pool of applicants who meet JEE requirements is depleted is CUET merit taken into account.
