AISSEE 2026 Registration: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the AISSEE 2026 registration window on October 30, 2025. Candidates from classes 6 and 9 seeking admissions to Sainik School must visit the official website and complete the registration process before the given deadline.
NTA has also added three new Sainik Schools under the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 curriculum. Candidates will need to apply for admission to classes 6 and 9 on the official website at exams.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply online is October 30, 2025 and students will be able to pay the online fee till October 31, 2025. The Ministry of Defence approved 86 new Sainik schools in June this year as a part of an initiative to establish 100 Sainik schools nationwide.

AISSEE 2026: Examination Format and Admission Routes
Admissions to the New Sainik Schools (NSS) are conducted via two routes:
- 40% Route (Category A): Seats filled on the basis of the All India AISSEE 2026 merit list where a candidate must secure a minimum 40% of the seats under the Sainik School stream in approved NSSs. Domiciles or categories are not considered for this merit list except for Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna Sainik School, Belagavi.
- 60% Route (Category B): For students already studying in approved NSSs, filled on the basis of rank secured in the school-wise merit list. Domicile or category are not considered for this merit list.
