The Durand Cup 2026 final saw East Bengal FC comfortably overcome Mohun Bagan Super Giant 4-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday. With this win, East Bengal have equalled their arch-rivals in the number of titles won in the 135th edition of marquee tournament.
Both East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant now have 17 Durand Cup titles to their names, putting them well ahead of any other team in the tournament's history.
How did East Bengal FC win Durand Cup 2026 Final?
In front of a packed Salt Lake Stadium, East Bengal FC took a commanding lead in the first half itself. The Kolkata giants scored four goals before half-time to put the final firmly in their control.
It all started in the 10th minute when Bipin Singh found the back of the net to give East Bengal a 1-0 lead. The advantage was extended soon after as Edmund Lalrindika scored a hat-trick, finding the net in the 11th, 22nd, and 44th minutes.
Mohun Bagan did manage to pull one back through Manvir Singh in the 33rd minute. However, it was not enough as East Bengal held on to their three-goal advantage at the end of first half.
Neither side could add another goal after the break, as East Bengal comfortably saw out the match to clinch a commanding 4-1 victory and lift the Durand Cup 2026 title.
