List of Important Sports Events in September 2026: This month will be a busy month for sports fans, & there will be more excitement between each sports event. 

Several major international tournaments, world championships, continental competitions and professional sporting events are scheduled during the month.

Some of the biggest attractions include the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, the FIDE Chess Olympiad, the UCI Road World Championships, the World Athletics Championships, Formula 1 Grands Prix, MotoGP, the US Open tennis tournament and major cricket and hockey competitions.
