Indian Railways has introduced its second Vande Bharat Sleep train, which is going to connect Bengaluru and Mumbai. The new orange and grey coloured train will run between KSAR Bengaluru and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai. Once operational this will become one of the fastest and most comfortable rail options with modern amenities.

Expected Train Route
The train is likely to operate between SMVT Bengaluru and Mumbai CSMT, passing through major stations such as Tumakuru, Davanagere, Hubballi, Belagavi, Miraj, Pune, Mumbai. Once the operations begin, the final list of stoppages will be announced by Indian Railways.

Bengaluru to Mumbai route generally takes 20-24 hours. The Vande Bharat sleeper is expected to reduce travel time by around 14-16 hours, making it more convenient to connect and travel overnight.
Which is the first Vande Bharat sleeper train?
The first Vande Bharat sleeper train operates between Howrah and Kamakhya. The train was launched in January 2026 and has reduced travel time by up to six hours.
