UPSC Recruitment 2026: Registration Begins for 194 Vacancies at upsc.gov.in; Apply Till June 12, Check Key Details

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has commenced the online registration procedure for direct recruitment in 194 vacancies of Group A and Group B (gazetted) posts. The recruitment drive for filling up vacancies in various departments of the central government has been announced in Advertisement No. 05/2026. The notification is out on the official website, and the application process has been started from May 23, 2026, and candidates can apply till June 12, 2026, till 6 pm.

The recruitment drive is for several technical, engineering, scientific, teaching, aviation, archaeology, meteorology and administrative posts. Candidates from different educational backgrounds like engineering, science, atmospheric studies, languages, mechanical and civil engineering, oil technology, chemical engineering and aviation maintenance can apply through UPSC ORA portal.

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply across different posts, candidates must possess certain educational qualifications and should be within the prescribed age limit. Check details here.

1. Educational Qualifications Eligible Indian candidates holding qualifications such as a bachelor's degree in engineering, master's degree, or PhD can apply for the 194 vacancies announced under 32 different posts. The detailed notification includes post-wise educational requirements such as BSc, BTech/BE, MA, MSc, ME/MTech, and PG Diploma qualifications. The age limit differs according to the post applied for. 

2. Age Limit It varies according to the different posts.Candidates should check the maximum age requirement mentioned for their respective post in the official notification PDF. Age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be provided as per Government of India rules.

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive salary as per Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission and other allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, etc. The pay scale for some Group A senior posts may be raised due to department and post classification. 

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Application Fee Details

Candidates will have to pay an application fee in online mode of Rs 25. But women candidates, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from paying fees. No offline application facility is provided; applications will be received only through its online ORA portal. 

UPSC Recruitment 2026 Selection Procedure

The selection process will consist of shortlisting candidates followed by an interview. The subject knowledge, experience, and communication ability of candidates will be considered when deciding on a candidate's order of selection. This recruitment will not have a written examination, and the final selection will be made based on the candidate's performance in the interview round, academic background, and professional profile.
