Punjab Police Constable Exam Pattern 2026 for Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The computer-based test is the first stage of the Punjab Police Constable selection process. It is divided into two papers, i.e. Paper I and Paper II. The written exam comprises multiple-choice questions. Paper I consists of 100 questions carrying one mark each. Paper II is a compulsory qualifying test of the Punjabi language at the matriculation level. It contains 50 questions with 50% marks as the qualifying criteria. The marks obtained in Paper II shall not be counted for deciding the merit. There shall be no negative marking/penalty for incorrect answers. After normalisation, candidates need to obtain at least 40% marks (35% marks for SC, Backwards Class, Economically Weaker Section and Ex-servicemen categories) in Paper 1 to be considered for the next stage. Punjab Police Constable PST and PMT Requirements
Candidates who have obtained the required minimum marks in Paper I and have also qualified Paper II will be shortlisted for Stage 2. Stage 2 comprises the Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test. All Transgender aspirants shall be considered at par with Female candidates in respect of the Physical Screening Test and Physical Measurement Test.
