PSPCL ALM Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Qualifications & Age Limit

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has officially released a recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Lineman (ALM). There are a total of 3000 posts for this recruitment exercise. The PSPCL is a government-owned power generation and distribution utility in Punjab. It plays an important role in providing a 24×7 electricity supply across the state. The online application process will start from April 15 and continue till 5 May. The last date for paying fees is 11 May 2026. The probation period of this post will be 3 years. It is a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to get recruited into this PSU. Before applying, candidates must meet the basic criteria, such as having completed an ITI certificate in the trade of Wireman or Electrician from a recognised NCVT/SCVT institution, and falling within the age limit of 21-42 years.

PSPCL ALM Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

To apply for the Assistant Lineman (ALM)  post, candidates should meet the educational qualification mentioned below:

• The candidates must have passed the Matriculation exam or the equivalent thereof from a recognised board. 

• The candidates must have a certificate from the ITI course in the trade of Electrician or Wireman. 

• The ITI course should be certified by the National Council for Vocational Training or the State Council for Vocational Training. 

• Both qualifications must be obtained before the last date of application, which will be on or before 6 May 2026.

Qualification in Punjabi Language

• The candidates must pass the Punjabi language exam at least up to the Matriculation level or its equivalent.

Age Limit

The Age limit is an important part of the eligibility criteria, so candidates should fall within the required age limit given below:

• Age must be between 18 to 37 years

Age relaxation is applicable especially for reserved categories, as mentioned below:

• Scheduled Caste and Backwards Class -  +5 years

• Physically Handicapped candidates - +10 years 

• Ex-Serviceman (Self) -  =3 years 

• Widows, etc. (divorced, legally separated, deserted, wife of serving/disabled military personnel)  -  Above 40 years

• Employees of PSPCL/PSTCL/Punjab Govt. – Service rendered

Domicile Requirement

Reservations are available only to Punjab Domiciles for all categories. Candidates will have to give valid proof of Punjab domicile status during the document checking stage.
