Telangana Inter Admissions 2026: This is a landmark decision made by the Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, regarding the education sector in the state. In May 2026, the Chief Minister deferred the idea of combining the TSBIE with the School Education Department. The decision was made to override the recommendation by the Telangana Education Commission to scrap the junior college system and introduce a CBSE style of Class 11 and 12 schooling system. The reason behind this decision was the complexity involved in implementing the proposed changes in the existing system.
Such a delay has caused the process of admission for the academic year 2026-27 to be undertaken under the current 10+2 system. The process of admission for this system has been officially announced by the Board, and the first phase of the admissions will commence from May 12, 2026, while the classes will begin from June 1st. It should be noted that this delay has allowed colleges to admit students provisionally based on their online mark memos to facilitate the smooth transition to the new system.
