Home State Quota vs Other State Quota
The most important factor for admission is the quota system. Because 50% of the seats are reserved for students from Chhattisgarh, the eligibility criteria is based on state or board of Class 12.
- Home State (HS) Quota: This quota is for the candidates from Chhattisgarh. The competition is within a state, the closing ranks are more lenient compared to the national average.
- Other State (OS) Quota: This quota is for the candidates from all over India. Due to the high demand for CSE, the closing ranks for the OS quota are more competitive.
Factors Influencing the 2026 Cutoff
The cutoff depends on various factors like number of candidates, exam difficulty, and number of available seats. Category reservations and branch popularity also play an important role in deciding opening and closing ranks.
- Total Candidates: As more candidates are appearing for the JEE Main examinations which results in the lower closing ranks.
- Exam Difficulty: The marks required may drop to get the same rank if the 2026 exam is tough. But the cutoffs remain stable.
- Seat Matrix Changes: If the college offers more seats or adds subjects like AI, it changes the competition for each seat and gives students more options.
- Student Preference: Better placement opportunities at college attract students with higher scores to choose it first.
