Teachers’ Day 2026: On the eve of Teachers' Day 2026, President Droupadi Murmu greeted all teachers and paid homage to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on the occasion of his birthday. During her speech, she stressed the importance of the core mission of teachers who not only teach students but also shape their characters, recognise their talents and make them responsible citizens.
In this context, the rapid changes that are taking place in education have been pointed out by President Murmu, and she asked teachers to update themselves in terms of professional knowledge and skills. She said that teachers should make use of digital tools, modern technologies and innovative approaches in the classroom to keep up with technological developments around the world. Teachers should not indulge in making students learn through rote and cramming for exams. Instead, they should instil a spirit of questioning and curiosity among learners. President Murmu thanked teachers with a great sense of appreciation and said that dedicated teachers are the key elements to create enlightened generations in the future.

PM Modi to Visit SRCC for Centenary Event Amid Planned Student Protest
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to attend the centennial celebration ceremony of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), an affiliate college of Delhi University, at 7 PM today. At the ceremony, PM Modi is expected to have interactions with students and teachers of the college.
On the other hand, there is political tension surrounding the visit, because ASAP, which is the students’ front of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has planned a demonstration at 10 AM today.
