It’s time! The day lakh of students have been preparing for is here. National Testing Agency, NTA will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2026 examination today across the country. As many as 22.79 lakh students have registered for the medical entrance examination today. The exam begins at 2 pm sharp across 5432 centers in the country.
Ahead of the examination, NTA releases multiple advisories and instructions for students. These instructions are available on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Summary of the important instructions and dress code is also provided here for quick reference. However, there is a last minute important reminder all parents should share with their wards who would be appearing for the exam today…and that is what to check once the question paper is handed over.
NEET Question Paper is a heavily guarded entity which goes through multiple security protocol to reach the student. However, there are concerns that students have shared which can lead to disruption in their paper. Here are a few important instructions regarding the NEET question paper all students must know.
3 Important Things to Check When You Receive NEET Question Paper
- Check if the Seal is In Place – This is extremely important. Students are to received sealed question papers. The seal would be a small paper tag that would hold the question paper’s pages together. In case the seal is already broken when the student receives the question paper, he/she must quickly raise the issue and demand to speak with the Center Superintendent. This is extremely important and must be followed without fail. All are advised to explain this to the students and tell them to remain calm but raise the concerns if there.
- Check Number of Pages in the Booklet – the NEET question paper booklet has multiple pages. The number of total pages the booklet is supposed to have are mentioned on the front page of the booklet. All students must physically verify the number of pages in the booklet by counting them. Also, they must ensure that the number of pages are correct and two pages are not repeated. This is important to be checks at the beginning of the examination. In case of any concerns, students must raise it with the invigilator immediately.
- Check the language of the question paper – NTA conducts NEET exam in multiple regional languages as well. Students have an option of appearing for the exam in their chose language. All regional question papers are bi-lingual and also carry English question paper. This is true even for Hindi and Urdu question papers. However, English question papers would only be in English. Students are advised to check that the question paper they have received is in the language opted for by them. In case of concerns, they need to immediately raise the same with the invigilators to ensure amends are made in time.
Students and parents may please note that it is imperative to remain clam. NTA has ensured safe conduct of the examination and taken extreme measures for the same. In case of any concerns, students can and must raise their voice but remain calm. Also, in case time is lost due to any concerns, students are advised to calmly ask for compensatory time.
NEET Exam is three hours duration, and all students are entitled to that time when appearing for the examination. All are only advised to remain calm and follow the instructions. In case of concerns, Invigilators and officers are available at each exam centre for assistance.
