IIMs Slip in World MBA Rankings 2027: Top 3 Indian Business Schools Hold On to Global Top 100 Ranks
QS World MBA Rankings 2027: In the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, top Indian business schools IIM Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Calcutta dropped positions but stayed in the global top 100. Driven down by lower "Value for Money" scores, the institutes maintained strong graduate employability ranks worldwide.
QS World MBA Rankings 2027: In the recent QS Global MBA & Business Master's Rankings 2027, there is an evident decrease in the ranking positions of India’s foremost management institutions Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Calcutta despite the three securing the same ranking positions within the top 100 internationally. Leading the country for the fourth successive year, IIM Bangalore dropped 12 ranks to jointly hold 64th position worldwide, while IIM Ahmedabad also dropped 12 ranks to be placed in the joint 70th rank. In addition to this, IIM Calcutta showed the largest fall by dropping 31 ranks to hold the 95th position.
According to the report on the ranking, these declines were mainly caused due to the global competitors beating the Indian B-schools in terms of important factors like return on investment (ROI), value for money, and entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes. Although the ranking is relatively low, the Indian Institutes of Management have shown excellent performance in graduate employability factor. On this employability factor, IIM Bangalore has been ranked 29th internationally and second in Asia, followed by IIM Ahmedabad, which has been ranked 35th, and IIM Calcutta that has been ranked 39th.
