Delhi Govt Honours 116 Educators; CM Rekha Gupta Stresses Need for Better Schools
Delhi Government honoured 116 teachers on Teacher’s Day. CM Rekha Gupta pledged to fix school infrastructure and curriculum gaps for stronger education.
The Delhi government celebrated Teacher's Day with a grand award ceremony at Thyagaraj stadium. The state felicitated 116 teachers and principals for their dedication. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the event Shikshak Mahakumbh. She said the government wants to take Delhi's education system to higher heights. Her message was clear. Awards and Honours for Educations
The award ceremony honoured these educators for their hard work. The event drew many senior leaders of the capital. Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra was present. MP Basuri Swaraj also joined the ceremony. Education Minister Ashish Sood attended along with other senior government officials. The gathering showed the government’s respect for teachers. It also set the tone for the education agenda ahead.
Infrastructure and Curriculum Push
CM Rekha Gupta said improving basic facilities in schools is an immediate priority. Many schools need essential repair and maintenance work. This includes improvement to toilet and water facilities. Whitewashing and other infrastructure work was also needed. Gupta shared a personal experience from a school inspection. She visited a reputed school praised by the previous government. She found a toilet without a gate. She questioned the privacy of girl students. The government is also working on courses and curriculum. The education department and education minister Asish Sood are working continuously on these areas. Gupta criticised the previous government for the last 12 years. She said adequate work had not been carried out in the education sector. So the current government had to begin by addressing basic deficiencies. She assured teachers and students of continued steps to improve education. The government will create better opportunities for children. It will address the remaining gaps. The focus stays on the education and future of Delhi's children.
