Chandigarh School Holidays Extended to January 17, Check Latest Updates Here

Chandigarh School Holidays: As per local media reports, school holidays have been extended in Chandigarh. The holiday extension applies to all government, government-aided, and private schools in the state. As per reports, the school holiday has been extended till January 17, 2026. Earlier, the schools were scheduled to reopen on January 15, 2026. The administration has, however, announced the extension considering the cold weather. 

As per reports, the Chandigarh administration has decided to extend school holidays after taking into account the cold weather and falling temperatures. Classes will continue online during this period. Schools in Punjab remain closed today, January 13, 2026, on the occasion of Lohri. A decision of extension of school holidays has not been taken for the schools in Punjab. 

As per reports, a red alert has been issued for Lohri in Punjab. This is reportedly the first time that the Meteorological Department has issued such an alert in this season.
