CBSE Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be holding the class 10 board exams twice a year. The revised system aims at improving the study-related pressure in students and introducing flexibility in studies for the students.
Optional CBSE 10th Second Phase Exams
The first phase is mandatory while the second phase of board exams will be optional, in order to provide students with an opportunity to improve their final grades. The Internal Assessments (IAs) will be conducted annually.
This new initiative has been introduced to sync the education system with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was formulated to reduce the stressful studying environment for the students.
Relaxation between Exam Schedules for Students
According to media sources, the board exams will be conducted in April for the first phase, followed by the second phase exams in June 2026, allowing ample time difference between both phases for students to prepare.
The internal assessments will be held once in a year to simplify the evaluation process, aligning it with the features of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
