AI to Create Super Teachers in Bihar, Cricket Bowling to Explain Maths

Bihar government teachers will now receive AI training with the help of Google India. Resource persons from Google India will provide AI training to selected teachers in every district of Bihar, These trained teachers will then act as master trainers. They will make all other teachers proficient in this technology. This training has been running in Maharashtra since last July. Under the National Education Policy 2020 every teacher must complete 50 hours of professional development training every year. Keeping this in mind teachers are being given AI training. AI Makes Learning Simple and Fun
Students often see mathematics as a difficult subject. AI changes this completely. When a teacher uses AI to teach mathematics the tool creates an everyday story related to the lesson. Suppose a teacher wants to teach fractions. The AI tool uses the popular cricket example. A bowler comes to bowl and an over has six balls. After the first ball the AI asks to explain the fraction ⅙ of the ball is bowled. After the second ball it asks to explain 2/6 of the ball is bowled. The 2/6 is reduced to ⅓. So for the second ball it says the bowler has completed ⅓ of the over. During a live TV match if the screen shows 8.3 overs the AI explains that the bowler has completed eight and a half overs.
AI can also bring poems to life. An english teacher was teaching Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice. The students were not interested and their attention was distracted. The teacher used an AI image generator and asked it to create a picture where half the world is burning and the other half is covered in snow. The picture was created in a few seconds. Seeing this live picture the children started visualizing the poem. They began to enjoy understanding its meaning.
