When was Hapur Created?
Hapur district was formed by separating the 3 tehsils of Ghaziabad district, namely Hapur, Garhmukteshwar, and Dhaulana. It was named Panchseel Nagar by the then chief minister Mayawati in September 2011, but was renamed Hapur by her successor Akhilesh Yadav in July 2012.
Hapur district is divided into three sub-districts or tehsils, namely Hapur, Garhmukteshwar, and Dhaulana. The division of districts into sub-districts was done to improve governance and public administration.
