Based on the information provided by the people at the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), USA has over 250 billion tonnes of proven coal reserves. This makes up more than 22% of all the coal on the planet. Basically, if you take all the world's coal and put it in a pile, almost a quarter of it belongs to the US. It's so much coal that it can last for many years to come.
