The ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) initiative is a national-level sports league dedicated exclusively to women. it was officially launched in 2021 and rebranded to embody the spirit of "Asmita" (Pride/Identity), it operates under the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The initiative organizes leagues across various age groups Under-13, 13–18, and 18+ in multiple disciplines, including Athletics, Football, Weightlifting, Swimming, and more. It is designed to act as a bridge between grassroots talent and professional excellence.
Objective of the ASMITA Scheme:
The primary aim of the ASMITA scheme is to foster a sports culture among women across the India while achieving the following:

How to Register for ASMITA Initiative
Registration for the ASMITA leagues is primarily handled through the digital NSRS portal. Follow these steps to participate:

Create an Account: If you are a new user, click on 'Register' and choose 'Athlete'.

Fill in Details: Enter your personal information, including Name, Date of Birth, and State. (Note: Ensure you select "Female" in the gender category to view ASMITA-specific leagues)

Upload Documents: You will need a digital photograph, Aadhaar card (for age proof), and bank details (or a joint account with a parent).

Select Your Sport & League: Choose the specific "ASMITA League" (e.g., ASMITA Athletics or ASMITA Football) and your respective age group (U-13, 13-18, or 18+).

Submit and Note NSRS ID: Once registered, a unique NSRS ID will be generated. This ID is mandatory for participating in any Khelo India sanctioned event.
