The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will close the  online application process for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon and Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts today August 24 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill 436 backlog vacancies in the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department, Government of Odisha. Those holding a Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry can apply via the official OPSC website at opsc.gov.in. 1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a  Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or its equivalent degree from any recognized University or  Institution in India or abroad 

• They should also have the certificates recognized by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for those who have degrees from Universities of Foreign Countries 

• They should also have a valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners Act, 1970.

2. Age Limit

The minimum age to apply is 21 while maximum age stands at 47 years as on January 1, 2026. Candidates must read the official notification once for age relaxation and other conditions before submitting the form.
