During the Teacher’s Day celebration at Secondary Board High School in Cuttack, Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a huge employment and educational opportunity. To address major faculty shortages across the government schools, the state government plans to fill 45000 teaching vacancies over the next three years. Phased Recruitment of 45000 School Teaching Posts Across Odisha

The recruitment process is designed to systematically fill vacant teaching positions across elementary, secondary, and pre-primary levels:-

• 3-year Phased Hiring Plan:- The 45000 vacancies will be released in structured recruitment cycles through the School and Mass Education Department to strengthen classroom student-teacher ratios.
• Pre-School & Shishu Vatika Expansion:- Around 45000 Shishu Vatikas (nursery sections) have been launched to support early childhood care and education.
• Focus on Tribal & Rural Retention:- Special welfare schemes, such as the Shahid Madho Singh Hasta Kharcha Yojana, are being integrated to prevent dropouts among tribal students alongside new faculty deployments.

Free KG to PG Learning & Model Schools Initiative of Odisha CM

Alongside the teacher recruitment target of the Odisha Teacher recruitment drive, Chief Minister Majhi has also highlighted key structural reforms for that position, which are as follows:-

• Odisha government will provide completely free education from pre-primary (Shishu Vatika) up through postgraduate studies across state institutions. 
• The administration is also investing Rs. 12000 crore to establish 2200 Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalayas across rural regions.
• Midday meal coverage and free textbook distribution have been expanded to cover Class 9 and Class 10 students.
