Bhubaneswar, April 24: KIIT Deemed to be University has made an impressive jump to 6th rank in India across all universities- public and private in Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026. The university has also been ranked as the top institution in Odisha as well as the entire eastern part of the country. This is significant for KIIT as in 2025 it stood at the 8th position and it has improved to 6th position this year.
In the entire continent of Asia too KIIT continues its steady climb and has reached to 169th position in the year 2026, it had a rank of 196 in 2024, improving to 184th position in 2025.
In this ranking as many as 929 universities from 36 countries have been included and the performances of universities were measured on the parameters like Teaching, Research, International Outlook, Industry Income etc.
This is truly a remarkable achievement for the not so old university of the country that KIIT has outranked some established institutions in India.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS said that the ranking shows the hard work and the devotion of faculty members, staff and students of KIIT. According to him, innovation and international outreach have enabled KIIT to get this recognition both nationally and internationally.
