Mumbai Local Trains to Run Without Mega Block on June 21 for NEET Re-Examination
Mumbai local train services will continue its services without mega blocks on the Re-NEET that is scheduled on 21 June to help candidates travel smoothly across the city and reach the test centre without any issues.
In a major relief for students and families, Mumbai suburban train network will not see its usual Sunday mega block or jumbo block on 21 June due to the Re-NEET examination. The decision by central and western railway comes as an important public service move ensuring smoother travel for thousands of candidates helping them reach NEET exam centres across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. With local trains serving as the city’s lifeline, the temporary suspension of maintenance related disruption is expected to reduce stress and improve connectivity on such crucial examination day.
Railways Prioritise Student Travel Over Routine Maintenance
Western Railway has confirmed that no jumbo block will be carried out on its suburban section this Sunday, and services will run according to the regular schedule instead of the usual reduced Sunday timetable. The move is aimed at preventing inconvenience to NEET aspirants and helping them reach their destinations on time.
Central Railway has also announced that there will be no mega block on its suburban network on June 21 because of the re-examination. However, officials have not yet clarified whether CR services will operate on the standard Sunday pattern or follow the fuller weekday-like schedule.
The NEET-UG retest has been fixed for June 21 after the original examination held on May 3 was cancelled amid allegations of question paper leaks. Against that backdrop, the railways’ decision reflects an effort to support candidates with uninterrupted suburban services on one of the most important academic dates of the year.
