The Joint Admission Committee (JAC), Delhi has announced the Round 1 opening and closing ranks for 2026 counselling of participating institutes like DTU, IIIT‑D, NSUT and DSEU based on JEE Main All‑India ranks. The students who registered for counselling in JAC Delhi are now able to check seat allotment and the institute-wise and category-wise cutoffs over the official portal and have to adhere to the mentioned deadlines to accept the seat, freeze it or proceed for further counselling in JAC Delhi.

JAC Delhi Round 1 Tentative Cutoff

The closing ranks for high demand and competitive branches (CSE, IT, ECE) are tighter, and are referred to as round 1 cutoffs; branches with strong placement records tend to close at much lower closing ranks than the traditional or less competitive branches.

The closing rank of the Delhi-quota seats (majority quota) are generally lower than the closing rank of outside-Delhi seats due to the quota advantage; the cutoffs for reserved categories differ from cutoffs for general categories, students should refer to the category table available on the JAC website for a better understanding of where they stand.

Response to Students with Allotments

You will be allocated an allotment in round one; you must report and accept a seat on the one within the timeframe that JAC has designated (otherwise the seat might be stripped from you) or freeze a seat and drop from the remainder of the rounds.

If an allottee is not allotted and/or a dissatisfied person is allotted, he/she should consider opening/closing ranks and make a realistic plan for what they can do in the following rounds (Round 2, subsequent rounds and/or spot rounds where the ranks tend to loosen up).

To ensure timely decision making on the Campus and Branch of interest, keep all required documents ready for admission formalities and pay special attention to the JAC website during the seat accept windows and give preference to the Campus of interest and Branch of interest in advance.
