Yumnam Khemchand Singh is a senior politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the current leader of the BJP legislative party in Manipur.
As of February 3, 2026, he has been named as the next Chief Minister of Manipur, succeeding N. Biren Singh. He represents the Singjamei constituency in the Imphal West district.
He was born on 1 March 1963 (62 years old as of 2026). He is also a BJP MLA representing the Singjamei Assembly constituency in Manipur. He was the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly from 2017 to 2022.
In his political career, he was first elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 from the Singjamei constituency. Additionally, he served as the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly from March 2017 to March 2022.

He is set to become the 56th Chief Minister of Manipur. After President's Rule from February 2025 to February 2026, he was chosen as the legislative party leader on February 3, 2026, and will soon take the oath as Chief Minister.
In December 2025, he shed light on his honours and accomplishments when he became the first Indian to receive a 5th Dan black belt in traditional Taekwondo from the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation (GTTF) in Seoul, South Korea.
He is widely recognised for his role in forming the Taekwondo Federation of India and popularising the martial art as a sport across the country.
