Yash Raj Punja was born on 26 June, 2006, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to Indian parents Dheeraj and Shilpa Punja. He may be born and brought up in the UAE but he has strong Indian roots.
He was raised in Abu Dhabi and studied at Cambridge High School. Ever since he was small, cricket was a significant aspect of his life and his elder brother played a big part in what he is today.
Yodhin Punja who is the elder brother of Yash Raj Punja is his greatest role model. At the tender age of nine, Yash saw his brother make history as the youngest first-class cricketer in the UAE. That was a moment that he did not forget.
