PM Ekta Mall or PM Unity Mall:The Indian government's landmark retail project, Prime Minister Ekta Mall (also called Unity Mall), was introduced in the Union Budget 2023–2024. As a "one-stop shop" for One District One Product (ODOP), Geographical Indication (GI) goods, and regional handicrafts, these shopping centres symbolise the ideals of "Vocal for Local" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat."
The PM Ekta Malls are operate under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) with an outlay of ₹5,000 crore, these malls serve as a national marketplace for One District One Product (ODOP) items, Geographical Indication (GI) tagged goods, and indigenous handicrafts.
The PM Ekta Malls are designed to embody the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," every state in India is developing at least one Unity Mall—typically in their capital city or a major tourism hub—to provide local artisans and weavers direct access to a global customer base.
PM Ekta Malls (Unity Malls) are envisaged as dedicated retail and display hubs for promoting and selling ODOP, Geographical Indication(GI) and handicraft products. Each mall is planned to provide earmarked space for every State and Union Territory to showcase its products, enabling wider market access, stronger visibility, and improved consumer reach for district-level specialities.
Key Features of PM Ekta Malls
As India is growing into a worldwide manufacturing and tourism powerhouse, the Unity Mall has emerged as a keystone for cultural and economic unity. The central government has budgeted ₹5,000 crore, including at least ₹100 crore each state, to help each state/UT construct at least one such landmark under one roof, empowering craftsmen and businesses. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has established special standards to guarantee that these malls are more than just retail centres.

National Representation: Every Unity Mall must provide dedicated commercial space (shops) for all 36 States and Union Territories of India. Currently 29 Unity Malls are approved across 27 states.

ODOP & GI Focus: A minimum of spaces are reserved for state-specific products that hold a Geographical Indication (GI) tag or fall under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and elevate local crafts into national cultural hubs and global market destinations.
