PM Narendra Modi posted on the social media platform X, “Tomorrow, 28th March, is a day of immense importance for the people of Uttar Pradesh and the NCR. Phase I of Noida International Airport will be inaugurated. This will boost commerce and connectivity. It will ease congestion at the IGI Airport in Delhi.”

Noida International Airport is among the largest greenfield airport projects in India.

Integrated with energy-efficient systems, the airport aims to operate as a net-zero emissions facility.

The IATA code of the Noida International Airport is DXN. Flight operations are expected within 45 days to two months of inauguration.

Located on the Yamuna Expressway, the Noida International Airport has been planned as a multi-modal transport hub with seamless connectivity across road, rail, metro, and regional transit systems.

Phase I of the airport will initially have a passenger handling capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA), with scalability up to 70 MPPA upon full development.

Akasa Air, IndiGo, and Air India Express have confirmed operations in the initial phase.

It features a 3,900-metre (3.9 kilometres) runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft, along with modern navigation systems, including the Instrument Landing System (ILS), and advanced airfield lighting to support efficient, all-weather, round-the-clock operations.

The airport also has a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub, an Integrated Cargo Terminal and logistics zones. The cargo system is designed to handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes annually, expandable to around 18 lakh metric tonnes. It also houses a dedicated 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility.

The architectural design of the airport draws inspiration from Indian heritage, featuring elements of traditional ghats and havelis.
