Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, IISER, are currently accepting applications for the IISER Aptitude Test, IAT, 2026, which is conducted for admission to undergraduate science programs across IISER campuses. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official admission portal iiseradmission.in. As per the official schedule, the online application process for IISER IAT 2026 began on March 5, 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is April 13, 2026. Candidates must complete the registration process online by filling in their personal and academic details, uploading the required documents, and paying the application fee.
The IISER Aptitude Test is one of the main admission channels for the five-year BS-MS dual degree program, which is designed to offer students with strong foundations in basic sciences, along with research exposure.
Currently, IISER campuses are located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.
IISER IAT 2026 Registration: Exam Date and Schedule
As per the official notification, the IISER IAT 2026 examination will be conducted on June 7, 2026.
- The exam will be held in computer-based mode at designated centres across India.
- Those candidates who complete the application process will be able to download their IAT 2026 admit cards from May 24, 2026, through the official website.
- Once the candidate response form has been uploaded, the portal will open for filing objections on June 9, 2026.
- The official portal will close for filing objections on June 13, 2026.
- Windows for selective information or document upload on the application form are between June 13 to 21, 2026.
IISER IAT 2026 Registration: Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee
Before the candidates proceed with their application, they must ensure they meet the detailed eligibility criteria and are aware of the required application fee based on the category they belong to. Given below is the eligibility criteria for the candidate to apply to the IISER IAT 2026 exam:-
- Students who have passed or are appearing for their Class 12 examination in 2024, 2025, or 2026 with compulsory science subjects are eligible to apply for IISER IAT 2026, subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirements specified by the institutes.
- Candidates must have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology in their qualifying examination.
- For admission to the following programs candidate must have Mathematics as their compulsory subject: 5-year BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences at IISER Kolkata, 4-year B.Tech at IISER Bhopal, 4-year BS in Economics Sciences at IISER Bhopal, and 4-Year BS in Economics and Statistical Sciences at IISER Tirupati.
- Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories must score a minimum score of 55% or an equivalent grade in their Class 12 examination.
- Candidates belonging to the unreserved category must score a minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent grade point average in the Class 12 examination.
Application Fee for IISER IAT 2026 Registration
The application fee must be paid by the applicant during the submission of the application form. The application portal is open from March 5, 2026, to April 13, 2026.
- For the candidates who will be applying under the General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories, the fee is Rs. 2,000
- For the candidates who will be applying under PwD, persons registered as Kashmiri Pandits, Kashmiri Hindu Families (non-migrant), SC, ST, and Kashmiri Migrant categories, the fee is Rs. 1,000.
- For the candidates who will be applying under the foreign National Category, the fee is Rs. 12,000.
Candidates are advised to complete the registration process before the deadline and regularly visit the official admission website for updates regarding the exam, admit card release, result announcement and counselling schedule.
