DU Eligibility 2026: The Subject Mapping Rule

Before appearing for CUET, students need to understand the formula in detail to avoid any confusion later. This will help in navigating the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) phase better. Delhi University, on the other hand, follows Subject Mapping Rule very strictly, so if you are aiming for a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science, you should be careful with the subject combinations.

This rule makes it compulsory for students to choose a domain subject that they have already studied and passed in for the CUET exam, as per their Class 12 board exams. The table contains quick rules and strategies to keep students safe from rejection:

Component

Strategy & Rules

The Mapping Rule

Students should only appear for CUET subjects that they have studied and have passed in the 12th Class boards. Going for new subjects may lead to direct rejection during CSAS counseling.

Score Well

Students don’t have to necessarily go for Computer Science/Informatics Practices in CUET if they have not studies these subjects. You can complete the other "2 additional subjects" criteria with Physics and Chemistry if you are sure to score well in these subjects.

CSAS Portal

The subjects students register for on the NTA CUET portal should match the Class 12 mark sheet. This will be uploaded later on the DU portal.

By following the subject combination shared here and the mapping rule, students can ensure a seat for 2026 admission. Students should focus on scoring high in mathematics, as it makes a lot of difference in securing a seat in a top university.
