The University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including universities and colleges, across the country to participate in the Phase 6 of Yuva Sangam. Institutes will be able to register online till March 18, 2026. The registrations will be accepted through Yuva portal ebsb.aicte-india.org.

The initiative, under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ campaign, aims at promoting cultural exchange and national integration among youth. Selected participants will go on exposure tours between April and June 2026 to encourage cultural exchange and youth interaction. The program helps young people from various areas meet and understand each other better through shared culture and learning.

Yuva Sangam Phase 6: Guidelines by UGC

The UGC announced that 22 higher education institutions (HEIs) across India are paired for the next phase of exchange tours, including IIT Delhi, IIT Ropar, IIT Indore, IIM Jammu, and various other IITs, IIMs, and NITs. The tours will focus on five themes, known as the '5 Ps', namely:

  • Tourism (Paryatan)
  • Traditions (Parampara)
  • Development (Pragati)
  • Technology (Prodyogiki)
  • People-to-People Connect (Paraspar Sampark)

These themes are designed to help students discover the host state's culture, innovation, and development.

Yuva Sangam Phase 6: Salient Features

  • The program aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's focus on experiential learning and exposure to India's diverse culture and society.
  • Institutions must create detailed tour plans with various partners.
  • The program may include interactions with industry groups, local entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, NGOs, self-help groups, and other community leaders for practical, real-world learning.
  • For smooth implementation of Phase 6, the Commission has asked HEIs to assign a nodal officer for coordination.
  • The Higher Education Department has provided a standard operating procedure (SOP), checklist, and best practices guide for organizing the tours.
  • The UGC emphasized that active participation from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is vital for the success of this phase of Yuva Sangam and for strengthening the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” vision.
