Telangana Dasara Holidays 2026: The Telangana School Education Department has announced the Dasara school holidays 2026 for schools across the state. As per the academic calendar, schools will remain closed for 13 days from October 10 to October 22, 2026, for the Dasara festival. Schools will reopen on October 23, 2026.
The Dasara break will be applicable to schools across Telangana irrespective of management. Before the holidays begin, students will have to appear for the Summative Assessment-I examinations, scheduled in October.

Telangana Dasara Holidays 2026: Check Dates
According to the Telangana academic calendar for 2026-27, the Dasara/First Term holidays will be observed from October 10 to October 22. Students will return to school on October 23.

Telangana Dasara Holidays 2026: Exams Before Vacation
Students will have their Summative Assessment-I (SA-1) examinations before the Dasara vacation. For Classes VI to X, the exams are scheduled from October 1 to October 9, while primary school examinations will be conducted from October 5 to October 9, according to the latest reports.
The Telangana academic calendar also specifies 227 working days for the 2026-27 academic year. The last working day for schools is scheduled for April 23, 2027.

Telangana Dasara Holidays 2026: Junior Colleges
The Dasara holiday schedule for junior colleges is slightly different. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has announced holidays from October 10 to October 21, 2026, with junior colleges scheduled to reopen on October 22. Intermediate students will have their half-yearly examinations from October 3 to October 9 before the vacation.
