As per reports, the Punjab state government has changed the school timings for all government, government-aided and private schools. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains have made the announcement. The decision to revise school timings was taken after several parents raised concerns about the issue of extreme cold weather on social media, where parents and teachers requested extended holidays.
As per the revised timings, primary schools in Punjab will now function from 10 am to 3 PM, while middle school, high school, and senior secondary schools will be operational from 10 am to 3:20 PM. All schools must follow the revised timings until January 21, 2026. Decision regarding the extension of the revised timings will be taken after carefully considering the confiions on January 21st.
The Punjab Education Minister has assured that the safety and well-being of students are a top priority, and school heads and district education officers have been instructed to ensure that the timings are implemented strictly in all schools across the state.
