1. 682 – One number is correct and well placed.

2. 614 – One number is correct but wrongly placed.

3. 206 – Two numbers are correct but wrongly placed.

4. 738 – Nothing is correct.

5. 780 – One number is correct but wrongly placed.

Solution: What is the correct code for this 3-digit numeric lock?

So, are you excited to know what the correct answer is for this logical puzzle? Okay, here are step-by-step instructions for this 3-digit numeric lock correct code:

1. 738 nothing is correct means none of the numbers is 7, 3 or 8

2. If neither 7 nor 8 is right, the number that's correct but wrongly placed in 780 has to be 0. That's our first confirmed number, and we know it's first or second.

3. Since we know 0 is right, either the 2 or the 6 (from 206) must be. It can't be the 6, though, because the 6 appears in both 682 and 614, and one of them has the numbers in the wrong place. If the 6 in 614 was correct, but in the wrong place, it wouldn't be in the right place for 682. Therefore, two also has to be one of the numbers, and we know it isn't the first.

4. Since 2 is right and 682 has one number correct, it must be the 2, and we know that the code ends with a 2.

5. Since 206 has the numbers in the wrong place and we know 0 can't be last, it can't be second, either. The final code has to start with 0 and end with 2.

6. Now that we know 6 and 8 are wrong, 614 is either 1 or 4, and the number is in the wrong place. Since we're missing the middle number, it can't be the one and must be the 4, giving us the full answer.
