What are the Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2026?

Educational Qualification
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer: Candidate must have completed a bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university.
Desirable: Candidates can have a CA/CMA/CS/Master's in Commerce.
Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Candidates must have competed bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th-standard level
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Statistical Investigator Grade II: Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects studied in all three years of the course.
All Other Posts: The Candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent.
Age Limit (As of August 1, 2026)
The age limit varies based on the post and category of candidate Generally, it ranges between 18 and 32 years.
18-27 years: Auditor, Accountant, Tax Assistant, Upper Division Clerk.
20-30 years: Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Sub-Inspector (CBI).
18-30 years: Inspector (Income Tax), Inspector (Central Excise).
Up to 32 years: Junior Statistical Officer
