Back in May 1999, enemy troops secretly crossed into the Kargil-Dras area in Ladakh. They took over our high-altitude mountain camps, which our soldiers had left empty during the harsh winter. When local shepherds noticed them and warned the Indian Army, we launched "Operation Vijay" to get our land back. After nearly two months of very difficult fighting, our brave Indian Armed Forces won back important locations:
- Tololing Top: The first major area we reclaimed, which was a huge turning point in the war.
- Tiger Hill: A vital peak that we won back after a fierce battle on July 4, 1999.
