CJP Student Protest Live: The student protest continued after the “Sansad Chalo” movement on July 20, 2026, with students and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 examination. Late on the night of July 23, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a video on X, saying that “more strict actions against paper leaks” would be announced in the Cabinet meeting on July 24. Meanwhile, the CJP has formally called for a nationwide protest today. According to media sources, the CJP representatives are likely to meet Union government ministers today at 12:30 pm, while the cabinet meeting begins at 1 pm. CJP spokesperson said the Constitution Club of India has been chosen as the ground for the meeting with the government. 

Several Central Delhi schools have shifted to hybrid mode and have made changes in their transport arrangement due to traffic curbs and metro restrictions imposed amid the ongoing CJP protest. 

No Cases Against Peaceful Protesters, Suicide Victims’ Families To Be Compensated

In a post shared on X on July 24, 2026, Sonam Wangchuk announced that he had ended his 26-day hunger strike after receiving assurances from the government that the issue of accountability in the “failing examination system” would be discussed on the floor of Parliament.

Wangchuk began his post with, “END OF HUNGER… BEGINNING OF ACCOUNTABILITY!” He further said that the families of suicide victims would be provided compensation and that no cases would be registered against peaceful protesters.

“The government also gave assurance that families of suicide victims in the recent NEET examination paper leak will be given adequate compensation and that there will be no cases registered against the peacefully protesting students and youths.”

Which Metro Stations Are Closed Today In Delhi?

Amid the ongoing student protest in Delhi, the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) announced the closure of 17 metro stations from 7:30 am till further instructions. “However, Interchange facilities shall remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat.” DMRC said.

Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike in the presence of Union Ministers J.P. Nadda, Dr. Jitendra Singh, and senior leaders of the Apex Body of Leh Ladakh. He had joined students at Jantar Mantar in their protest, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and was detained by the police two days before the “Sansad Chalo” movement.

In a post on X, Wangchuk said, “Earlier, 65 Members of Parliament from different political parties had visited or signed letters urging me to end the fast.”

Explaining his decision to call off the hunger strike, Wangchuk wrote, “This was done after long negotiations on various conditions and in view of possible violence in the country.”
