Artemis 2 is NASA's first manned mission to fly by the moon since the Apollo era. In the Artemis II mission astronauts will orbit the moon in Orion on top of SLS after a successful wet dress rehearsal in February 2026 at Kennedy Space Center.
The Artemis 2 launch date has been rescheduled to March 2026, and it provides a special thrill: your name goes to space on a microchip in Orion.
‘Name in Space’ is a free public service where anyone can get a boarding pass with their names and send it to space. It has helped create worldwide interest in a return to the moon.
According to NASA statistics, more than 2 million names went to space aboard Artemis I in 2022.
