There are a total of 10 instances of bowlers taking hat-tricks in the 17-year history of the T20 World Cup. Pat Cummins of Australia holds the special distinction of being the only player in the history of the T20 World Cup to take two hat-tricks. He has achieved this unique feat in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Brett Lee, the speedster from Australia was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup. He achieved the feat in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup i.e T20 World Cup 2007.

In a match against Bangladesh, Brett Lee dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza and Alok Kapali in three successive deliveries to achieve the hat-trick.

Curtis Campher achieved the record of taking a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup in a match against Netherlands. He dismissed Colin Ackermann, Ryan ten Doeschate, Scott Edwards and Roelof van der Merwe of successive deliveries.

Till date, he is the only bowler to take 4 wickets of successive deliveries in the T20 World Cup.

Wanindu Hasaranga, the celebrated wrist spinner of Sri Lanka, achieved the hat-trick in T20 World Cup 2021, he dismissed Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma and Dwayne Pretorius of South Africa.

Kagiso Rabada, the fiery pacer from South Africa earned the distinction of taking a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup against England in 2021, when he dismissed Chris Woakes, Eoin Morgan and Chris Jordan off successive deliveries.

Karthik Meiyappan is the first player from the associate nations to take a hat-trick in T20 World Cup, he achieved the unique feat in a match against Sri Lanka in 2022, when he dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka in 3 consecutive legal deliveries.

Joshua Little became the second Irish cricketer to take a hat-trick after Curtis Campher achieved the feat in 2021.

He took a hat-trick in a match against New Zealand in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The batsmen that he dismissed were Kane Williamson, James Neesham and Mitchell Santner.

Pat Cummins became the only cricketer in the history of the T20 World Cup to take a hat-trick twice.

He became the second Australian bowler to take a hat-trick in a match against Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2024. The batsmen he sent packing were Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, and Towhid Hridoy.

He followed it up with another hat-trick albeit in a lost cause against Afghanistan in a Super 8 clash, where he dismissed Rashid Khan, Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib off three successive deliveries.

Chris Jordan became the latest bowler to achieve a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup, when he took 4 wickets in an over against USA in a Super 8 match in 2024.

He dismissed Corey Anderson first and then Ali Khan, Nosthush Kenjige and Saurabh Netravalkar off successive deliveries to become the first English bowler to take a hat-trick in T20’s.

Romario Shepherd claimed the first hat-trick of the 2026 T20 World Cup with a scintillating bowling display, where he took a five-fer (5-wicket haul), which included a hat-trick in the 17th over of the innings, which swung the match in favour of the West Indies.
