National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test- PG (NEET PG) is conducted for students seeking admission to the MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses, Post MBBS DNB Courses, Direct 6 Years DrNB Courses, and NBEMS Diploma Courses. Candidates must analyse the NEET PG exam pattern before commencing their preparation to identify the test format, number of questions, maximum marks, exam duration, and other marking parameters. Typically, it is a computer-based test, divided into five sections of 40 multiple-choice questions each. Each section will have 42 minutes. The NEET PG question paper comprises 200 multiple-choice questions, with each question comprising 4 response options. The medium of the question paper shall be in the English language only. Candidates must choose the correct/best/most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options assigned in each question. The exam duration shall be 3 hours and 30 minutes. The NEET-PG exam shall be divided into five time-bound sections, i.e. Group A, B, C, D & E. The questions will be asked from the subjects of the MBBS curriculum and shall be divided across these five sections.
Each section carries 40 questions, and the exam duration for each section shall be 42 minutes. Candidates cannot move to the next section till completion of the allotted time of the previous section, and test-takers will not be permitted to review the questions/ modify the responses of a section after the allotted time is over for that particular section. Furthermore, questions in the next section will begin automatically after the allotted time is over for the previous section.
