Haryana School Holidays - February 2026

As per the official holiday calendar, schools across Haryana will observe the following holidays in February 2026. However, since both holidays fall on Sundays, no additional or compensatory holiday will be granted for students or staff.

Guru Ravidas Jayanti - 1 February 2026 (Sunday)

Guru Ravidas Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the revered saint and poet Guru Ravidas. The day is observed as a gazetted holiday in Haryana. As the occasion falls on a Sunday, schools will remain closed as part of the regular weekend, and no extra holiday will be provided.

Maha Shivratri - 15 February 2026 (Sunday)

Maha Shivratri is a major Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva. Since it also falls on a Sunday, students will get a routine weekend off, and there will be no additional holiday on a weekday.

Restricted Holiday in February 2026

In addition to gazetted holidays, Haryana schools will observe the following restricted holiday in February 2026:

Guru Brahmanand Jayanti / Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti - 12 February 2026 (Thursday)

Restricted holidays are subject to regional and local observances. Schools in certain districts or regions of Haryana may remain closed, depending on directions issued by the local administration. Students and parents are advised to confirm the holiday status with their respective school authorities or refer to notifications issued by the District Magistrate (DM) or local education department for clarity.

School Holidays on Second and Fourth Saturdays

Most government and private schools in Haryana observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. In February 2026, students are expected to get additional breaks on these Saturdays, adding to the overall number of off days during the month.

School Closures Due to Annual Examinations (Session 2025-26)

Several schools across Haryana will witness partial or complete closures in February 2026 due to the conduct of annual examinations for the academic session 2025–26. During this period, students may be given preparatory leaves and breaks between exams as per their school schedules.

Meanwhile, the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has announced the board examination dates:

Students appearing for board exams are advised to regularly check official notifications and stay updated with school-level instructions regarding exam days and holidays.

Important Note for Students and Parents

While the above holidays are applicable across most government and private schools in Haryana, individual institutions may make minor changes based on local administration decisions. Students and parents are advised to confirm holiday details with their respective schools.

With limited holidays and the board exams approaching, February 2026 will be a focused and academically significant month for Haryana students.
