Divyangjan Scholarship 2026: Divyangjan scholarship is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to help the students with disabilities to get education at an affordable cost. The scholarship is provided in three formats: pre-matric scholarship, post-matric scholarship, and scholarship for top class education. Divyangjan Scholarship 2026: The Central government under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) provides financial assistance to the students with disabilities to continue their education at school, college, and other levels. These scholarships are open to Indian nationals only. All the components of scholarships are open to students with benchmark disability i.e. 40% or more disability as defined in ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Scholarships for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she/he would not get a scholarship for that class for a second (or a subsequent) year. There is also a 50% reservation for female candidates. Slots for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Top Class schemes include fresh as well as renewal cases.
Types of Divyangjan Scholarship
The Divyangan Scholarship is provided in the following forms:

Pre-Matric Scholarship: For 9th & 10th Class students

Post-Matric Scholarship: 11th, 12th, Postmatriculation Diploma/Certificates, Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in India, Master’s Degree/Diploma from any University recognized by UGC/AICTE.

Top Class Education: Graduate and Postgraduate Degree/ Diploma in institutes notified by DEPwD.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Eligibility: The candidate should be a regular, full time student studying in classes 9th or 10th in a Government school or in a school recognized by the Govt. or by a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
Scholarship Amount
The Pre-matric scholarship amount is disbursed based on the category of the applicants. The scholarship is provided based on the allowance type. Check the tabel below for details:

Post-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Eligibility: Post- Matric Scholarship will be given for study of all recognized postmatriculation or post-secondary courses (up to Master degree level) pursued in recognized institutions/Universities with the following exceptions:

Ineligible if repeating the same educational stage in a different subject (e.g., B.Com after B.A.).

Pursuing LL.B, B.Ed, or B.El.Ed after a Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc, B.E., etc.) is eligible.

Students enrolled in two courses at the same time can only claim the scholarship for one course, provided dual enrollment is officially permitted.

Students who join a recognized professional/technical certificate, diploma, or degree course after either passing or failing general undergraduate exams (Arts/Science/Commerce) are eligible.

Students pursuing correspondence, distance, or continuing education are fully eligible.

Eligible if the combined income of the student and their parents/guardians falls below the prescribed ceiling. However, support is limited strictly to the reimbursement of compulsory, non-refundable fees.
Scholarship Amount
The post-matric scholarship for students with disabilities is provided according to the components. Check the components with the financial assistance below:

How to Apply for Divyangjan Scholarship 2026?
The candidates are required to first complete the One Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). After that, follow the steps given below:
