Was Amelia Earhart’s Plane Found? Pilot Claims Google Earth Image Matches Missing Electra

Almost 90 years after Amelia Earhart's disappearance, an old claim is getting renewed attention from around the world about what happened to her and her plane.

A pilot now believes that the online application Google Earth may have been used to help show the possible debris of her plane, a Lockheed Electra 10E, located somewhere in a very remote area. 

This possible discovery has resulted in a lot of analysis and debate from both aviation professionals and people who are aviation enthusiasts. 

The skeptics claim that the previous claims of finding Amelia's body have not produced any conclusive evidence proving that Amelia died near where the claims said she would be located.

The New Claim: A Discovery on Google Earth

A pilot recently stated that they discovered an object that has the same size and shape as an airplane that was part of Amelia Earhart’s flight in 1937, a Lockheed Electra. 

They also noted that the outline of the object shows indications of having wings and the main body fuselage.

Because of these features, the pilot believes that this could be debris from the plane mentioned above.

The object was found after closely examining images taken by satellite of an area that is difficult to access.

 This has become a common method of exploration in today’s world. 

With the capabilities of tools such as Google Earth, not just professionals but also individuals can now search large areas that would normally be inaccessible.

Why Amelia Earhart’s Disappearance Still Fascinates?

In Eastern time on July 2, 1937, Amelia Earhart was last estimated to have been in the vicinity of Howland Island when her two-way radio signal was lost.

 At that moment, Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, had been at sea for approximately 20 hours, on a flight that had already exceeded the anticipated duration and was expected to have only 12 hours of fuel remaining.

A global search for Earhart and Noonan has not yet resulted in any confirmed discovery of their plane or human remains.

Various theories about the circumstances of their disappearance have been published; none of these theories has been conclusively proven to be true or false.

 Therefore, her disappearance remains one of the most significant unresolved mysteries in aviation history.
