'Sinners' Star Michael B. Jordan Wins Best Actor at 2026 Oscars

Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor during the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, 2026. He won the award for his dual performances as Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, beating Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, and Wagner Moura. 

The Best Actor Oscars winner was announced by Zoe Saldaña at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. 

Jordan also won the Best Leading Actor in the Actors Awards on March 1, 2026. Sinners received a total of 16 nominations and won the Best Original Screenplay in the Oscars 2026.

Jordan broke into tears as he thanked Black legends Denzel Washington and Sidney Poitier in his acceptance speech. This was Jordan’s first Oscar win, and the 1930s vampire thriller film celebrated Black excellence.
