SSC CGL Syllabus 2026 As the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recently released its recruitment notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam, many of you who are preparing for this exam might be thinking of the syllabus and topics that are asked in this exam. The Staff Selection Commission, or SSC, gives the CGL syllabus for Tier 1 and 2 in the official notification. It is a national-level exam that is held every year to fill various Group B and C posts such as ASO in CSS, ASO in MEA, SI in CBI, etc. For the year 2026, a total of 12,256 vacancies have been notified by the commission. Candidates must also know that the vacancies notified are tentative and subject to change. As candidates start their preparation, it is important for them to understand that the exam is held in two stages Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 includes four subjects, which are listed below. 

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning

  2. General Awareness

  3. Quantitative Aptitude

  4. English Comprehension

SSC CGL Tier 2 consists of two papers: Paper I, which is mandatory for all candidates, and Paper II, which is only for those applying to the roles of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) or Statistical Investigator Grade-II. SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus

SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus consists of subjects and topics on which the questions will be asked in the exam . It helps candidates know which topics are significant for the exam. SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus 2026

The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, which are further divided into different modes. Paper 1 is compulsory for all candidates, while Paper 2 is conducted only for candidates applying for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II. Candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 exam will be eligible to appear for Tier 2.
