In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that, as per the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, all government, aided, recognised, and private schools will remain closed due to the prevailing flood situation and waterlogging concerns.

Earlier, reports had suggested a possible extension of holidays, but now the official notification confirms the closure. Schools will reopen only after September 3, depending on weather and safety conditions.
