The official website of CTET is ctet.nic.in. Those who are eligible and interested in applying for CTET 2026 can apply by visiting the CTET official website. Hurry up and don't wait till the last minute as uyou can face technical issues in the last minute.

The candidates who wish to apply for CTET 2026 February session are advised to apply soon by visiting the official portal at ctet.nic.in as the last date to apply is today. The candidates are only allowed to apply till 11:59 pm. 

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) which is conducted by the CBSE to assess the candidates eligibility to teach primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) level is held twice a year.

CTET is a national-level eligibility test and provided eligibility certificate to the candidates who qualify the paper.

The CTET 2026 exam dates has been announced by the CBSE through official notice which was released on 24th October 2025. The 21st edition of CTET exam is scheduled to be held on 08th February 2026.

The CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 consists of a section on Language for 30 marks in each paper. Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. While Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) comprises of two papers: Paper 1 for teaching primary classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for teaching upper primary classes 6 to 8. The syllabus for both the papers differ.

Paper 1 consists of five sections viz. Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language I, and Language II.

Paper 2 consists of four sections, out of which three are similar to Paper 1 and the fourth section is for the subject concerned such as Mathematics and Science OR Social Studies/Social Science.

As per CTET official website, The persons possessing minimum qualifications for the teaching staff in accordance with the following are eligible for appearing in the CTET:

1. National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.

2. Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

3. The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.

The previously stated National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Regulations on qualifying requirements shall be adhered to.

• A post-graduation candidate with a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. degree and a minimum of 55% or an equivalent grade.

The candidates are required to pay the CTET application fee through online mode only. The fee structure varies depending on whether a candidate is applying for one paper or both.

Candidates who are eligible and interested in applying for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February session 2026 must submit their application form and pay the application fee by 18th December 2025 (till 11:59 pm).
