Kimi Antonelli has set a new record as the youngest driver to achieve pole position in Formula One by breaking an almost 15-year-old record for the youngest driver to do so in qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix. 

A very strong lap from the teenage rookie ensured that he would start from the front of the grid after achieving the fastest time in the session.

 As a result, he now holds the record for being the youngest driver in Formula One to have been awarded pole position, previously held by Sebastian Vettel at the age of 21, when he took his first pole position in 2008 at the Italian Grand Prix.
